Layna is a Research Manager at CEGA, where she supports data analysis for a randomized control trial on unconditional cash transfers in Kenya and other project development under Professor Edward Miguel. Prior to joining CEGA, Layna spent time in Peru on a research fellowship at the International Potato Center analyzing adoption patterns of crop varieties among potato-farming communities in the Andes. She also worked on piloting a crowdsourced market information platform for pastoralists across Kenya’s arid and semi-arid regions at the International Livestock Research Institute. She holds a Master’s in International Affairs from UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy and a BA in International Studies from UCSD.
