Magdalena is a second-year PhD student in Public Policy at Harvard University, specializing in the Politics and Institutions track.
Her research interests lie in the field of political economy, with a specific focus on climate politics and policy. Magdalena’s work investigates the influence of collective action and social movements on electoral decisions, the role of natural disasters as drivers of policy change, and the strategic framing of energy bills to garner support from legislators.
Prior to embarking on her doctoral studies, Magdalena accumulated three years of experience as a senior research specialist for Johannes Haushofer and co-authors. During this time, she was stationed at the Busara Center in Nairobi, Kenya. Before joining the Busara Center, Magdalena earned a Master’s degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from the same institution.
