He is a research affiliate at CEPR (development and labour groups) and at JPAL. He studied at the University of Cape Town at the undergraduate level and spent time working at SALDRU. He received his DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford, where he remains a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of African Economies. He is an affiliate at the CEP at the London School of Economics.
