The IZA/DFID Short Course on Programme Evaluation took place on October, 29th-30th. The course was designed for postgraduate students, faculty members, and researchers in government and non-government institutions who would like to develop their skills in programme evaluation using the latest econometric methods.
The course consisted of four half-day sessions and covered the following topics:
- design and analysis of randomised controlled trials
- propensity score matching methods
- difference-in-difference estimators
- regression discontinuity designs
The focus was laid on application of these methods for the evaluation of labour market related programmes, including skills training programmes.
